About this ride

A five-day MTB journey from Alpine peaks to Mediterranean trails. Ride big descents in Aosta, chase classic singletrack in Finale, and let shuttle support keep the focus on riding, not climbing. Technical terrain, varied landscapes, good food, and a seamless setup from guide to logistics—two worlds, one trip.

After your transfer from Milan Malpensa, you’ll check into your hotel in the heart of Aosta — perfectly located just a short walk from the town’s historic streets, restaurants, and cafés.

The accommodation has been recently renovated with a warm alpine style and offers everything a rider needs: secure bike storage, tools, and all the comfort to start your mountain bike adventure in the Aosta Valley the right way.

Today we shuttle on Aosta’s sunny side, exploring the natural trails above town. Throughout the day we’ll move between multiple trailheads, maximising riding time and discovering a mix of flowy sections, technical lines and panoramic ridges.

Enjoy fast descents, stunning alpine views and the freedom of riding without long climbs. With our local guides and experienced drivers, every lap runs smoothly and safely.
We end the day the right way — with a cold beer and a big smile.

Get ready for another full shuttle day in a completely different riding zone. Today we’ll explore new terrain — from smooth flow to more technical natural lines — giving you a real taste of the variety Aosta can offer.

We’ll start early, and by around 2 p.m. we’ll wrap up the ride, load the van, and begin the transfer to Finale Ligure. You’ll arrive before dinner, check into the hotel, and then head out for a well-deserved evening meal by the sea.

Discover the essence of iconic mountain bike trails. Throughout the day, our shuttle will take you to different trailheads, giving you the chance to ride classics like the Roller Coaster, DH Men, Engineer and many more unforgettable lines.

Take your time between descents to enjoy the views, the sea breeze, and the unique atmosphere that makes Finale Ligure one of Europe’s most iconic MTB destinations.

Not only the iconic trails! Finale Ligure offers a diverse range of singletrack terrain, from rugged, jagged rocks to flowing descents and everything in between. Check out the Finale Ligure Trail Map to explore this extensive MTB trail network, which locals have been meticulously building for over 30 years.

After breakfast, it’s time to check out and begin the journey back to the airport.
The drive to Milan Malpensa becomes a quiet moment to let everything settle:
the trails you rode, the people you met, the long descents, the flow, the sea breeze in Finale, and the feeling of moving through two worlds in a single adventure.

No rush. No noise. Just the smooth transition from an unforgettable week back to the rest of your life — carrying a little bit of the Alps and the coast with you.

FAQs

Because they offer two completely different riding experiences that complement each other well. Aosta is high alpine terrain: ridges, technical descents, forest singletrack at altitude. Finale is coastal Mediterranean riding: flowing trails, warm air, and a completely different rhythm. Two days in each. One trip that covers more ground than most riders manage in a full season.

On Day 3, after the morning ride in Aosta, we drive you to Finale Ligure. The transfer is included. You arrive in the evening, check in, and the next morning you’re riding one of the most well-known trail networks in Europe. No logistics to figure out on your end.

Finale Ligure is a reference destination for singletrack in Europe. The trails are technical, fast, and incredibly varied — from ridge lines with sea views to tight technical lines through the Mediterranean scrub. You’ll ride Roller Coaster, DH Men, Engineer, and others chosen based on conditions. It’s a completely different feel from the Alps, and that contrast is exactly the point.

Not really. Both destinations are shuttle-supported, which means the focus is on descending rather than grinding uphill. Finale especially is built around that format: shuttle up, ride down, repeat. The climbing is minimal. You’ll cover a lot of vertical descent across the week without spending much time pushing.

The tour runs from May through October, so there’s plenty of flexibility. May and October are particularly good: May for fresh trails and cooler temperatures, October for quieter trails and the best light of the year. That said, the riding is worth it at any point in the season. Talk to us and we’ll help you pick the right window around your calendar.

Technical & Fitness levels

We ask all riders to review the “Technical and Fitness Rating System” to ensure you are confident riding on the level required for the particular rides you are interested in joining!

Please read the following guidelines carefully to ensure the ride of interest matches your technical level and fitness prior to booking your ride.

TECHNICAL RATINGS

Novice
You can ride a bike and are happy riding on dirt roads with gentle climbs and descents.

Intermediate
You enjoy riding easy single track that isn’t narrow or technical and you know the basics of body position and how to brake and corner safely. You enjoy riding in the mountains as long as it’s not too exposed or steep. You’d maybe like to learn more to enable you to tackle more technical or narrower trails with roots and rocks.

Intermediate +
You are comfortable riding on narrow single track with some rocks and roots and are able to proactively ride most trails. If the corners are too tight or the trail is too technical you are happy to walk a few meters, but you’d like to work on your skills to help you ride them.

Advanced
You are comfortable riding almost any trail including steep rock sections, tight switch backs, off camber sections, roots, and narrow exposed single track in high mountain terrain. You’ve ridden in the mountains and are not intimidated by sustained, steep descents that include all of these features. You know when it’s better to get off the bike, but don’t have to often.

Pro Bro
You are a professional or sponsored mountain biker, and/or you compete regularly in national or international competitions. You can ride all terrain pro-actively and safely, in any mountain environment or weather conditions.

FITNESS RATINGS

1
You are happy riding for a few hours and are capable of climbing up to 500 vertical meters over the course of a day.

2
You are happy riding for a several hours and are capable of climbing between 500-800 vertical meters over the course of a day. You could ride like this for 2-3 consecutive days.

3
You are capable of riding for multiple days in a row at a moderate pace for several hours each day. You can handle moderately steep climbs of up to around 1000 vertical meters in a day including some pushing or carrying your bike if required. You have ridden at altitude (2000 slm+) previously, and understand the effect it has on you.

4
You are capable of riding for multiple days for an average of 4-6 hours of pedal time each day. You can climb 1000-1500 vertical meters each day including pushing or carrying your bike over long sections (30-60mins) if required. You have ridden at altitudes of over 2000 slm+ previously and are happy doing so, although you may have to go slower and take more breaks.

5
You are capable of riding for multiple days in a row for an average of 6-8 hours each day. You can handle steep, sustained climbs of over 1,500m each day including pushing or carrying your bike over long sections (60mins+) if required. Altitude is no problem to you and you are used to riding at over 2500 slm+.
