The 2026 season brings the biggest infrastructure upgrade Pila has seen in years. The new 10-seat Pila-Stella gondola — which replaced two ageing chairlifts in winter 2025/26 — now reaches 2,723 m at the panoramic “Stella del Couis” point in just 15 minutes from Pila village. For mountain bikers, this opens up higher-alpine terrain that was previously not lift-accessible, with new descents being released progressively through the summer as conditions allow. The Chamolé chairlift continues to serve the core bike park (Bike Stadium, Flow Trail, New Enduro Trail, Les Fleurs Aosta freeride) from June 19 onward. Combined, the lift system now offers more vertical, more variety and longer riding days than any previous season.

Pila Bike Park typically opens in late June and runs until mid-September. The lifts from Pila to Aosta open the first week of June and run daily.
Pila Bike Park sits at 1,800 meters in the Aosta Valley, northern Italy, just 18 km from the city of Aosta. It’s reachable in roughly 1.5 hours from Turin Airport and 2 hours from Milan Malpensa, making it the most accessible lift-served bike park in the western Alps.
Yes. Pila offers green and blue flow trails specifically designed for beginners and intermediate riders, alongside more demanding red and black downhill lines. Bike rental and lessons are available on site, and the gondola from Aosta means no climbing required.
Pila Bike Park is structured around two lift-served zones, opening in stages through the season.
The main bike-park zone is served by the Chamolé chairlift (opening June 19, 2026) and includes the Bike Stadium, a cluster of around a dozen graded tracks ranging from beginner flow lines to technical downhill — plus the freeride descents Les Fleurs Aosta and Desarpa Bike, and the Flow Trail and New Enduro Trail added in recent seasons.
A second zone is now served by the brand-new Pila-Stella gondola (open the full summer season, June 13 – September 13, 2026), which reaches 2,723 m at the panoramic “Stella del Couis” point and unlocks higher-alpine descents that were not lift-accessible before. Trails from the upper station are released progressively as conditions allow.
Because the upper trails open in stages and the 2026 trail map is still being finalised by Pilaturismo, the exact final count for 2026 will be confirmed once the full network is open. Expect roughly 15+ marked trails across all difficulty levels, plus the permanent 4 km cross-country loop in the Plan Bois area.
The official trail map is available on the Pilaturismo website and at the lift station. For an insider’s perspective, our team rides Pila throughout the season — we know which trails are best in which conditions, and we include them in our guided day tours.
